Questions & Answers

Our worship may be more traditional, but we aren’t formal. Feel free to come in your jeans or trail clothes, or your Sunday best. Whatever is comfortable for you is fine with us!

Sunday worship varies in style but are generally more traditional. We always praise God with prayer, singing, and reflection on passages from the Bible. A paper program (we call it a bulletin) will help you know what's going on, providing the order of worship, song numbers, prayers, and other details. It's ok if you don't know the songs. We didn't either, when we first started out!

The worship services usually lasts an hour, maybe a little longer. Plan to join us afterward for informal fellowship with hot coffee, tea, cider, or cocoa. We often have goodies to share, too, and we always have a warm welcome for friends old and new.

We have plenty of parking, and our entrance and building are fully accessible with no ramps, stairs, or curbs. There are double doors throughout the church and accessible stalls in the bathroom. We also have hearing assistance devices available. If you have accessibility needs, please reach out and let us know how we can help.

Absolutely! Children are welcome at Methow Valley UMC. From infants to teens, all are welcome to be in the sanctuary for worship. We believe that the coos and cries of little ones add to our worship and are a blessing, not a distraction. Busy toddlers are welcome to wander around our space and explore as we sing, pray, and worship. Older children are welcomed with a special bag stocked with activities to keep them busy through the service. Our community elders love to welcome God’s children of all ages!

For those who need a little privacy, we have a hugging room off the sanctuary with a one-way window, audio, and comfortable chair. Little ones can snuggle or play while caregivers watch, listen, and participate in worship. For the busiest little people who need a little more space, we also have a full nursery with plenty of toys.
